Tanya Rastogi of Lala Jugal Kishore Jewellers, Lucknow, guides brides-to-be with jewellery styling tips

Jewellery, like any other product vertical, is expanding its ranges and their respective uses, as younger buyers attach personal traits to adorning themselves with it. However, fashion needs discerning, proven expertise and Lala Jugal Kishore Jewellers, Lucknow, has none other than brand director Tanya Rastogi take up that responsibility.

A recent reel shows Rastogi walk any keen digital onlooker through the five essential categories for a complete bridal experience, namely polki, diamond, antique, colour gemstones, and gold. Make no mistake, as each category serves a particular occasion, and none of the above is more important than the other. That’s where Rastogi explains the purpose of it all.

“Jewellery has to be worn right. It’s not about what you are wearing, but how you are wearing it. Heritage jewellery is the most expensive form of retail, and young buyers need the right guidance to get that perfect look, which is where these styling tips matter,” she says.

And the youngsters embark on new discoveries with bridal jewellery, she opines. With a minimalistic approach to fashion, any young bride-to-be takes multiple sittings across months to arrive at a decision. Matching their lehengas with their jewellery, they self-educate about the products on offer. Once they do, they style Heritage jewellery in their own Avatar, as Rastogi recalls a bride wearing a 5 inch round dangler pendant like a maangtika, and acing the look!

The guiding principle that Rastogi shares is to have fun with jewellery across one’s buying journey. “Since jewellery is for all occasions, one can buy dainty, minimalistic pieces for casual wear, but should stick to timeless pieces for special occasions such as wedding. That’s because, say, a 25-year-old bride’s jewellery box will define how her kids and grandkids see her decades later and generations across.

“Play with colours. Pastel shades are in and the Russian emeralds and Basra pearls are timeless. Gold remains the best form of investment, and so, a bride should have a healthy mix of gold, silver, diamond, and colour stone jewellery to mix and match perfectly,” Rastogi maintains.
